Removable media device options

The server supports the installation of up to two half-height devices or one full-height device in the removable
media bays.

Installing a half-height media device

Power down the server (on page 22).

Do one of the following:

Open or remove the tower bezel, as needed

Extend the server from the rack (on page 24).
o
Remove the access panel (on page 25).

Remove fan 5 (on page 26).
4.
If installed, remove the BBWC battery pack or the FBWC capacitor pack (on page 27).
5.
Remove the air baffle (on page 28).
6.
Remove the fan cage (on page 29).
7.
Remove the media bay blank (on page 30).
8.
Using a T-15 Torx screwdriver, remove the screws from the blank and install them on the device.
9.
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
