8.2 Excel Mobile

Using the phone's built-in Microsoft Excel Mobile® application, you can open, edit,
and browse Microsoft Offi ce Excel® spreadsheets on the computer. You can also
modify the Excel Mobile® fi les default save location, add new fi le default templates,
and listing fi le types while browsing fi les.
Excel Mobile® does not support all Offi ce Excel® functions, for example: functions
and storage block notes. When you save spreadsheets on the phone, you might
lose some information or formatting. Please note these following Excel Mobile®
formatting issues:
• Alignment: horizontal, vertical, and wrap to window properties will be retained, but
vertical text will be displayed as horizontal
• Borders: single line display
• Storage block graphics: graphic styles applied to storage blocks will be removed
• Font and font size: fonts not supported on the device will be replaced with the
nearest character type
• Number format: use the function "Set formatting criteria" in Microsoft Excel 97 to
set the formatting of numbers, displayed as "Number" format
• Formulas and functions: if an Excel file contains Excel Mobile unsupported
functions, then the function will be removed and only the values before the
function calculation will be shown
• Protection settings: cannot use most of the table and spreadsheet protection
functions. Password protection support has been removed, and you will not be
able to open password protected spreadsheets, or password protected tables
in spreadsheets. You must first remove the Excel password protection on the
computer
• Zoom settings: Excel Mobile zoom settings are applied to the whole spreadsheet
• Table name: correctly displays the table name within the same spreadsheet, but
if the name extends to other spreadsheets or matrices, for example: ={1;2;3;4},
matrix equations, or crosses into another range, then the name will be removed
from the name list
• AutoFilter Settings
• Table formatting: all tables and charts will be saved as displayed in Excel Mobile.
Unsupported tables and charts will be converted into supported types
• Table functions: Excel Mobile hidden tables, VBA modules, macro tables, dialog
tables, text blocks, graph objects, pictures, lists, criteria formatting and control,
central analysis data conversion values
