in IDE subsystems that cannot support such fast performance. If you are getting disk drive errors,
try setting this value to Disabled. This field does not appear when the Internal PCI/IDE field is
Disabled.
IDE HDD Block Mode
Block mode is also called block transfer, multiple commands, or multiple sector read/write. If
your IDE hard drive supports block mode (most new drives do), select Enabled for automatic
detection of the optimal number of block read/writes per sector the drive can support.
The Choice: Enabled, Disabled
Onboard FDC Controller
This should be enabled if your system has a floppy disk drive (FDD) installed. Even so
equipped, when you add an additional higher performance controller this item should be set to
Disabled.
The choice: Enabled, Disabled.
Onboard Serial Port 1/Port 2
Select an address and corresponding interrupt for the first and second serial ports.
The choice: 3F8/IRQ4, 2E8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4, 2F8/IRQ3, Disabled, Auto.
IR Address Select
Select the Onboard IrDA port..
The choice: Disabled, 2E8H, 2F8H, 3E8H, 3F8H , 3E0H, 2E0H.
IR Mode
Select an operating mode for the second serial port.
The choice: IrDA, Normal, ASK IR.
IR IRQ Select
You could select the IRQ for the IR.
The choice: IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ10, IRQ11.
Onboard Parallel Port
This item allows you to determine I/O address to access onboard parallel port controller.
The choice: 378H/IRQ7, 278H/IRQ5, 3BCH/IRQ7, Disabled.
Parallel Port Mode
Select an operating mode for the onboard parallel (printer) port. SPP (Normal), EPP (Extended
Parallel Port), ECP (Extended Capabilities Port), ECP+EPP four modes can be selected. Select
Normal unless you are certain that both your hardware and software support EPP or ECP mode.
The choice: SPP, EPP, ECP, ECP+EPP
ECP Mode Use DMA
This item is available while you set the Parallel Port Mode Item to ECP mode or ECP+EPP mode.
You can choose DMA1 or DMA3
The choice: 1, 3
PS/2 Mouse function
Your system has a PS/2 mouse port and when you install a serial pointing device, select
Disabled.
USB Controller
Select Enabled to enable the system Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller when you have USB
peripherals.
