Tuning in strong signals

Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those
radio stations with sufficiently strong signals
for good reception.

Touch [Local] in Function menu.

Touch [On] to turn local seek tuning on.
To turn local seek tuning off, touch [Off].

Touch c or d to set the sensitivity.
There are four levels of sensitivity for FM and
two levels for MW/LW:
FM: 1 — 2 — 3 — 4
MW/LW: 1 — 2
p The FM "4" (MW/LW "2") setting allows re-
ception of only the strongest stations, while
lower settings let you receive progressively
weaker stations.

RDS (radio data system) is a system for provid-
ing information along with FM broadcasts.
This inaudible information provides features,
such as programme service name, pro-
gramme type, traffic announcement standby
and automatic tuning, that are intended to aid
radio listeners in finding and tuning in to a de-
sired station.

2 NEWS indicator
3 TRFC indicator
4 TEXT indicator

Menu on page 76.
p RDS service may not be provided by all sta-
tions.
p RDS functions like AF and TA are only ac-
tive when your radio is tuned to an RDS sta-
tion.
