SPROCKETS INSPECTION
1. Inspect:

Excessive wear ¡ Replace.
NOTE:
Replace the drive, driven sprockets and drive
chain as a set.

DRIVE CHAIN INSPECTION
1. Measure:
9 Drive chain length (15 links) a
Out of specification¡Replace.
Drive chain length (15 links):
Limit: 242.9 mm (9.563 in)
NOTE:
9While measuring the drive chain length push
down on the drive chain to increase its tension.
9Measure the length between drive chain roller
1 and y as shown.
9Perform this measurement at two or three dif-
ferent places.
2. Remove:
9 Master link clip
9 Joint 1
9 Drive chain 2
3. Clean:
9 Drive chain
Place it in kerosene, and brush off as much
dirt as possible. Then remove the chain
from the kerosene and dry the chain.
