SERVICE PROCEDURES
CHAIN ADJUSTMENT (FIGURE 4)
Chain MUST be tight. If the chain is noisy, loosen. After chain is
assembled, start in first gear and on straightaway.
1. Ensure the hand crank is adjusted to the proper height. Refer to HAND CRANK HEIGHT
ADJUSTMENT in SECTION 5 of this manual.
NOTE: Repositioning of the hand crank assembly loosens or tightens the chain in an UP/DOWN position.
2. Loosen the hex screw securing the adjustable chain idler.
3. Adjust the tautness of the chain by moving the adjustable chain idler IN or OUT as shown in
FIGURE 4.
4. Tighten the hex screw to secure the adjustable chain idler in place.
