1 Preparing for Installation

1.1 Audience

This guide is intended for HP service representatives and other persons trained to install hardware
options in HP 10000 series racks. Such persons are expected to understand the hazards of working
in this environment and to take suitable precautions to minimize danger to themselves and
others.

1.3 Kit Description

The cable management brackets described in this manual are designed to align and support the
InfiniBand cables that lead from an HP Cluster Platform Cisco SFS 7012D InfiniBand Interconnect
to the PCI interface cards installed in each server (node). The brackets provide strain relief for
the ports and cables and ensures a good connection. It also ensures the correct bend radius for
the cables and provides the necessary channels to route the cables and cable management.
