To upgrade the system software by using the automatic software upgrade function:
NOTE:
When you add a switch to the IRF fabric, the automatic software upgrade function compares the software
versions of the switch and the IRF master. If the versions are different, the switch automatically downloads
the system software image from the master, sets the downloaded file as the system software used at the
next reboot, and automatically reboots with the new system software image to re-join the IRF fabric.
Perform the irf auto-update enable command to enable the automatic software upgrade function

Now updating bootrom, please wait...
Bootrom update succeeded in slot 1.
NOTE:
Manually upgrading the BootWare image of the master can avoid the following problem. During the
reboot process, the master automatically upgrades the BootWare image and thus gets delayed. As a
result, the master re-joins the IRF as a subordinate and the subordinate becomes the new master. The
subordinate and master have different image versions, so the subordinate automatically downloads the
old system software image from the new master, and automatically reboots with the old system software
image. The upgrade fails.
Perform the boot-loader command in user view to load the file newest.bin and specify the file as
4.
the main image file at the next reboot.
