Set the IP address
using ARP in
Windows 98, Me,
2000, XP
Notes:
Follow these instructions to set the IP address using ARP:
1. Start a DOS window.
Type the following commands:
arp -s <IP address> <MAC address>
ping <IP address>
arp -d <IP address>
Example
arp -s 192.168.3.191 00-40-8c-18-17-d0
ping 192.168.3.191
arp -d 192.168.3.191
The host will return
similar message. This indicates that the address has been set
and that the communication is established.
