5.12 Locking the sewing foot in place in the
upper position
The lever on the rear side of the machine can be used to hold the
lifted sewing foot in the upper position, e. g. in order to wind on
the hook thread.

(1) - Lever down:
Sewing foot down

Locking the sewing foot in place in the upper position

1. Pivot the lever upwards to position (2).
The sewing foot is locked in place in the upper position.
CAUTION
Risk of crushing when lowering the sewing foot.
Do not put your hands underneath the sewing foot
if the locking mechanism is removed.
Removing the locking mechanism
1. Pivot the lever downwards to position (1).
The sewing foot is lowered. The locking mechanism is
removed.
or
1. Lift the sewing foot using the knee lever ( page 36).
The sewing foot is lowered. The locking mechanism is
removed.
The lever swings back to position (1).
