Compass and Altimeter
Use the Compass & Altimeter options to activate or deactivate the electronic compass, the barometric altimeter, and
the auto calibrate altimeter feature. You can also calibrate the electronic compass and the barometric altimeter. For
more information, see Compass and Altimeter Calibration starting on page 59.
From the Settings Page, select Compass & Altimeter and then select the option.

PN-60w only
The wireless option allows you to turn the wireless antenna on and off. The wireless antenna must be on to pair and
use an inReach or SPOT satellite Communicator with the PN-60w.
From the Settings Page, select Wireless and then select the option.

What it does
Select the check box to use the electronic compass. If this is not selected, the de-
vice uses the GPS compass.
Select the check box to use the barometric altimeter. If this is not selected, the
device uses GPS elevation.
Allows the altimeter to automatically calibrate.
Go to Compass & Altimeter > Calibrate, select Calibrate Compass or Calibrate
Altimeter, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Restores the default compass and altimeter settings.
What it does
Select the check box to turn the wireless antenna on.
From the drop-down list, select inReach or SPOT.
Restores the default wireless settings.
What it does
From the drop-down list, select how to play device sounds: Play All, Play Critical
Alerts, or Mute All.
Use the right and left arrows on the arrow keypad to adjust the volume.
From the drop-down list, select the sound that plays when you press a button or
None.
From the drop-down list, select the sound to play when you receive a message or
select Off for no sound.
From the drop-down list, select the sound to play when you power the device on or
off or select Off for no sound.
