Software Installation

Introduction

On the CD supplied with your optional MFP kit you will find the software
that enables you to print, scan, copy and send fax messages from your
desktop using your fax machine.
Note:
Complete your installation of the driver software before
installing the PC fax application software.
Before starting software installation, ensure that your fax machine is
connected to the parallel printer port on your computer, the fax machine
is powered on and power save mode is turned off. For details on how to
disable the power save mode, refer to the user's guide supplied with your
machine.
Save all open documents and close all other applications before
proceeding with driver installation.

Minimum system requirements

Before you install the MFP software you should make sure that you have
an IBM compatible computer running Windows 95, 98, NT4 or above
with the following recommendations for minimum specification:
Windows 2000 - Pentium 166 MHz processor and 64 MB RAM.
Windows NT4 Server and Workstation/Windows 98 2nd edition -
Pentium 120 MHz processor and 32 MB RAM. For NT4 ensure
Microsoft NT4 Service Pack 4 or later is installed.
Windows 95/Windows 98 1st edition - Pentium 120 MHz
processor and 16 MB RAM.
For each of the above systems requirements, the following configuration
is also required:
Bi-directional parallel printer port
Parallel interface cable to IEEE1284-1994 standard.
