NOTE: You must have administrative privileges to download and add agents. You must download and install
AppAssure 5 Agent software on the machines you want to protect in your environment. The installer is
available for 64-bit or 32-bit processors.
NOTE: By default, the software you download is valid for 14 days. If you are a new customer, your license is
automatically activated by AppAssure. After you have successfully downloaded the installer, you receive an
e-mail with your license key.
16. When you have downloaded the installer, click Finish.
17. On the Add Agent page, click Next.
The Resources and Support page is displayed. On this page, you see the contact information for contacting
AppAssure Support and getting assistance in using AppAssure 5.
18. If you do not wish to view this Wizard again, select Don't show me this wizard next time I logon.
If you select this option, the next time you log on, the License Portal Home page is displayed.
19. Click Finish to exit the Wizard.
The License Portal Home page is displayed.

Adding A Core To The License Portal

The AppAssure 5 Core, which is installed on a dedicated server, stores and manages the backups of all protected
machines in your environment.
NOTE: Only users with administrative rights can download a core.
To add an AppAssure Core to the License Portal:
1. On the AppAssure 5 License Portal Home page, select a group, and then click Download AppAssure 5.
The Download AppAssure 5 dialog box is displayed.
2. Select Installer Download or Web Installer Download.
NOTE: The Installer downloads the executable file in one task, while the Web Installer streams a download of
the latest version of AppAssure 5 Core and let you pause and resume the process as needed. A license key is
automatically generated and presented for you to enter to activate the subscription. The license key is
displayed in the confirmation e-mail that you receive after choosing your download option.
3. Click Run in the subsequent dialog boxes to install the software.
NOTE: When the automatic installation of the Core executable file is complete, the Welcome screen is
displayed.

Adding An Agent

NOTE: You must have administrative privileges to download and add agents.
To add an agent:
1. On the AppAssure 5 License Portal Home page, select a group, and then click Download Agent.
The Download Agent dialog box is displayed.
2. Click Download, located next to the installer version you want to download.
You can choose from:
– 32-bit Windows installer
– 64-bit Windows installer
