Admin Menu

This menu contains five sub menus, [Network Settings], [ParallelSettings], [System
Settings], [Maintenance Mode], and [Panel Settings].
Network Settings
Specifies the settings for the network. The settings with the suffix "*" in the following table
are displayed when the optional network expansion card is installed.
Note
• The settings in the [Network Settings] cannot be set when entering this menu during printing.
• You need to restart the printer to activate the new settings. After making the settings, switch off the
printer and then switch it on again.

Specifies the communication speed and the modes of Ethernet.
• [Auto] (default)
Automatically changes between 10Base half, 10Base full, 100Base half, and
100Base full.
• [10Base Half]

• [100Base Full]
Specifies the settings to use the TCP/IP protocol.
Set the IP address acquisition method.
• [DHCP/Autonet] (default)
Automatically sets the IP address.
• [BOOTP]
Uses BOOTP to set the IP address automatically.
• [RARP]
Uses RARP to set the IP address automatically.
• [DHCP]
Uses DHCP to set the IP address automatically.
• [Panel]
You can set the IP address manually by entering it on the operator panel.
These items are used to check the addresses that have been obtained automatically or
to specify addresses manually. Enter the address in the format of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. The
xxx value for the IP address and gateway can be set from 0 to 255. However, only for
xxx leading edge, 127 and 224 to 255 are not enabled. Also, the subnet mask xxx can
be set to 0, 128, 192, 224, 240, 248, 252, 254, 255.
Important
• To set addresses manually, set the [Get IP Address] to [Panel].
• IP addresses are managed in the entire network. An incorrect IP address may affect
the whole network. For the addresses you need to set manually, contact your network
administrator.
Set [Enable] when using the protocol. When [Disable] is selected, the protocol cannot
be activated.
