Description of Menu Items

This section describes the items that can be configured on each menu.

Tray Settings

Use the [Tray Settings] menu to define the paper size and type loaded in each tray.

Note
• When the size or type of paper that is loaded is different from the setting, the print quality may fall or
paper may jam. Specify the correct paper type and size.
• When installing the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet feeder if [Paper Source] is set to [Auto] on the print
driver, the feeding tray is automatically specified according to the setting on the control panel. Also,
when installing two optional feeder and the paper size and type setting for each tray is the same, printing
continues by changing the feeding tray if the paper in the specified tray has run out.
Specifies whether to display the message that prompts you to set the paper size and
type or not every time you load paper to the bypass tray or paper tray (optional). When
you select [On], the message that prompts you to set the paper size and type is
displayed. This item is displayed when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified], or
the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet feeder is installed.
• [Bypass Tray] (default: [Off])
• [Optional Tray] (default: [On])
Note
• [Optional Tray] is displayed only when the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet feeder is
installed.
• [Bypass Tray] is displayed only when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified].
Specifies the way to set the paper type and size settings to be loaded in the bypass tray.
• [Panel Specified]
You can specify the paper type and size settings on the control panel. Printing can be
done only when the settings on the print driver matches the settings on the control
panel.
• [DriverSpecified] (default)
You cannot specify the settings on the control panel. Printing is done using the
settings on the print driver.
Specifies the type of paper loaded in each tray. This item is displayed when the [Bypass
Mode] is set to [Panel Specified], or the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet feeder is
installed.
• [Tray 1] (default: [Plain])
• [Tray 2] (default: [Plain])
• [Bypass Tray] (default: [Plain])
Note
• [Tray 1] and [Tray 2] are displayed only when the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet
feeder is installed.
• [Bypass Tray] is displayed only when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified].
Specify the paper size and orientation for each tray. This item is displayed when the
[Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified], or the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet feeder
is installed.
• [Tray 1] (default: [A4 Portrait])
• [Tray 2] (default: [A4 Portrait])
• [Bypass Tray] (default: [Driver Size])
Note
• [Tray 1] and [Tray 2] are displayed only when the optional 250 sheet or 500 sheet
feeder is installed.
• [Bypass Tray] is displayed only when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel Specified].
• Select [Driver Size] when loading custom size paper in the bypass tray.
