4.3 Media Playback
The media player enables you to play video/music/photo files in your own HDD or other external storage devices.
Before entering the submenu, insert the external storage device first (USB 2.0 storage, HDD, eSata disk). AVerLife XV ision HD supports various
media file formats as below:
Video
MPEG1/2/4, H.264, Xvid, DivX
Content
AVI, M1V, M2T, M2P, M2TS, M2V, M4V, MKV, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MTS, TRP, TS/ TP
Formats
Audio
MP1, MP2, MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, MPA, M4A
Image
JPEG(progressive jpeg is not supported), BMP, PNG, TIFF, GIF, PCX
Subtitle
SRT (UTF-8), SMI, SUB, ASS, SSA, .idx+.sub

OSD Menu
Description
Main Menu
Press
to directly access the main screen. In Music/Photo/Video
submenus, you can play multimedia files. Use ◄ or ►to select a preferred
category.
Before playing, please choose one of the sources among your own storage device,
Media Servers, and Network Shares. Then press OK to enter the sub-menu.
The screen will display the files in the selected category. Use the navigation keys
◄/►/▲/▼ to select the item you want to play. Then press OK to start playing.
Press
to stop the playback and go back to the list.
Press
to directly access the main page.
Removing External Storage
In order to avoid data loss, it is highly recommended to safely remove your
external storage device.
Step 1:
Press
on the remote control.
Step 2:
Select the storage device you want to remove.
Step 3:
Press OK to remove it.
Media Server
If you wish to access files shared by other computers or device on the same
network, select Media Server. Use ▲/▼ to select the desired server and press OK
to browse the media files.
Network Shares (via Samba)
If you wish to access files shared by other computers on the same network (via
Windows Network Neighborhood), select Network Shares. All the available media
sources will then be detected and shown automatically. Use ▲/▼ to select the
sources and press OK. Input user name and password, then press OK to confirm.
Navigate to the file you wish to play and press OK.
*Please insert the HDD before using this function.
