PARTS LIST
The AP8C-9 is an aluminum pressurized housing complete with a
23x zoom integrated camera. This unit has an RS232 port that can be used to configure
some of the parameters of the camera. These parameters are saved in non-volatile
memory so that they will be restored if the camera loses power.
The following parameters may be configured and will be restored on power up:
ZOOM FACTOR - The zoom factor can be set from x1 (wide angle) to x23 (telephoto).
AUTOMATIC IR FILTER CONTROL LEVEL - There are three light level settings for
controlling the point at which the infrared filter is removed to enhance the sensitivity of
the camera to infrared. AER+1 is the highest sensitivity and requires the lowest light
level to switch out the IR filter while AER+3 is the lowest sensitivity and will switch out
the IR filter at a higher light level.
BACKLIGHT COMPENSATION - On or off.
Once the last parameter has been set, the unit will wait approximately 30 seconds before
loading the new data into non-volatile memory. The image from the camera will go black
for about 1 second to indicate the parameters have been loaded into memory. If power
is lost before the loading is complete, the new parameters will be lost and the camera
will restore with the previously stored ones.

HEATER
The front end-cap contains a glass viewing window. The integral heater/defogger is
mounted to the camera cradle and will transfer heat to the window to minimize fogging
of the window in high humidity areas and/or freezing under cold temperature conditions
PRESSURIZATION
Add 10psi of nitrogen to the unit. This may be done before or after connecting power.
CAUTION:
Pressurized container. DO NOT exceed 70kPa (10 PSIG) at one
atmosphere. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. The housing is fitted
with a standard Schrader valve to allow pressurization with dry nitrogen to 5 lb PSI
nominal at one atmosphere. An over pressurization safety relief valve is mounted
on the rear cap along with the Schrader valve. The purpose of the relief valve is to
provide a safety pressure blow off should internal pressure exceed 140 kPa (20 PSIG)
at one atmosphere. A pressurization warning label is visible on the back of housing.
