Cascading and internal synchronization.

The functions listed in the following sections will be available in
future software updates. Check out www.terratec.com every so
often for news about current updates.
Up to 4 TerraTec audio interfaces can be installed in a computer, and can even be
operated in a closed system, if they have what are known as EWS connections.
You can therefore conveniently increase the number of input and output channels which
can also access directly from most Windows/MAC applications. A fully loaded system
containing four PHASE and/or EWS models thus features a total of 40 inputs and outputs
- and all of that with virtually the same low latency!
For no-error operation, the PCI cards must be connected to each other using a special
cable (included with each card) or the WordClock module, which is available separately.
The internal connection (recommended).
There are two short pin sets next to each other on the PCI card: a 3-pin and a 5-pin.
These are necessary to ensure that multiple cards in one system can function properly.
As soon as you install another card in the system, these must be connected to each
other. Additionally, the "MasterClock" must be configured later in the EWS ControlPanel.

The pin rows.

If you only have one card in the system, just leave everything the way it is: on the CN 1
(5-pin) there is a jumper which sets the card as the so-called "Master".
