FS-C Functions
Organize Functions are Mutually Exclusive
Once one organize utility is performed on a set of files, another organize
function can not be applied. For example, if the Organize OMF is used on a
set of files, then Organize Reel can not be applied to them.

Organize Reel

This selection places all files identified as a REEL clip during
recording or playback into the appropriate reel folder. You can
import this folder directly into most DV NLE bins.

Organize OMF

When files are recorded in the AVID OMF file format, this
selection allows you to take all the OMF and AIF audio files at
the end of a recording session and place them into a folder on
the disk drive named
connected to a computer, this folder is recognized by Avid
Xpress DV's Media Tool enabling direct import of files into the
Avid timeline. Refer to the section,

Organize MXF

When using MXF OPAtom with some NLEs, such as AVID
Xpress Pro, it is necessary to do an Organize MXF prior to
importing the clips. Organize MXF is available in the Utilities
menu.
The Organize MXF:
• Moves all MXF video files into the

• Moves all MXF audio files into the
/
contents
• Updates and moves the xml files from the log directory
into the /
• Generates thumbnails of the clips in the
/
contents
