Optimizing Logical Drive Performance

To ensure optimal performance of the logical drives in your storage space, you can select a
performance mode to improve I/O throughput based on the needs of your application. (This
feature is not supported on all controllers.) The following application-specific performance
modes are supported by Adaptec Storage Manager.
Performance Mode
Dynamic (default)
Online Transaction
Process (OLTP)/
Database—a system that
facilitates and manages
transaction-oriented
applications, such as
data entry and retrieval
applications.
To select a performance mode for the logical drives on a controller:

In the Enterprise View, select the controller you want.

In the menu bar, select Actions, click Change performance mode, then select an
application type.

Shutdown Adaptec Storage Manager and reboot the system.
Note:
You must reboot the system before the performance mode setting takes effect.

R6 Sequential writes (all request sizes)
R10 Sequential writes (all request sizes)
R10 Workstation:
