About the IE-PowerTray/18
The IE-PowerTray/18™ is a modular enclosure for installing up to 18 IMC Networks
IE-MiniMc miniature media converters. IE-PowerTray/18 features an internal AC
power supply or DC power supply.
Installing IE-PowerTray/18 and IE-MiniMc Units
The IE-PowerTray/18 mounts into an equipment rack. IMC Networks recommends
turning OFF the power to the chassis before proceeding. Decide where to install the
IE-PowerTray/18 in the rack, then secure the rack-mount ears to the rack.
To install a MiniMc, make sure the data connectors are facing you and the DC power
connector on the back of the IE-MiniMc aligns with the connector on the backplane
of the PowerTray/18. Slide the IE-MiniMc into the PowerTray/18, using the guides,
until the IE-MiniMc is firmly seated in the backplane. Attach the network cables
between the IE-MiniMc and other devices that will be interconnected. Plug the
chassis into a power source and turn the chassis power switch to ON. There is a
green LED located on the back of the unit that indicates when the unit has power.
IE-MiniMc units are hot-swappable when installing in the PowerTray/18. Refer to the
installation guide shipped with IE-MiniMc for information on its operation.
