[] CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR
NOTES:

be sure tile refl'igerator power cord is not
plugged into tile wall outlet,
• If your
refl'igerator does not have a water filtei,
we recolnlnend installing one if wmr water supply
has sand or particles that could clog tile screen of
tile refrigerator's water wdve. Install it ill tile
water lille near tile reti'igerator. If using a (JE
SlnartConnect '_ ]_.efrigerator Tubing kit, you
will need an additional tube (WXOSX10002)
to connect tile filter, Do not cut plastic tube
to install filter,
Sotne models have tile refl'igerator connection at
tile end of tubing located outside tile colnpressor
conlpartnlent access cover. On other models, tile
COi/1pressoi" COIllp_lI'tIllen[ _lccess cover II/tlSt
be
removed ill order to access the refrigerator
connection at tile water wllve.
Oil models using tile refrigeration connection at
tile water xalxe, relnoxe tile plastic flexible cap.

Place tile colnpression nut and ferrule (sleeve)
onto the end of the tubing as shown. Oil a GE
SlnartConnect ]_.efl'igerator Tubing kit, tile nuts
are ah'eadv asselnbled to tile tubing.

CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR (CONT.)
Insert tile end of tile tubing into tile refi'igerator
connection as far as possible. While holding tile
robing, tighten tile fitting.
For plastic tubing fl'om a GE Slnart(_onnect
Refl'igerator Tubing kit, insert the molded end of
the tubing into the refl'igerator connection and
tighten the Colnpression nut until it is hand tight,
then tighten one additional turn with a wrench.
Overtightening inav cause leaks.
Fasten the tubing into the clalnp provided as
shown to kee I) it ill position. You InaV need to pry
open the clamp.
One of the illustrations below will look like the
com_ection on your refrigerator.

[] TURN THE WATER ON AT THE
SHUTOFF VALVE
Tighten any connections that leak.
Reattach tile access cover.
