Turn the shuttle ling right. (If you used the number buttons,
you do not need to do this.) The VCR will rewind to the
beginning of the tape, reset the counter to 0h00m00s, fast
forward to the point you selected and begin playing.
0 Press PLAY or STOP to cancel the time search.
To search to a point, measured from the current tape position:
@ Search by time
Now at Search to
0h00m00s ÷ 0h30m00s
VCR will search to the
time you select.
Use ADJUST to select,
and ENTER.
Press MENU for Main Menu
O Before entering the menus, press the CANCEL button to
reset the counter to 0h00m00s.
Follow the instructions O through _ above. You will see the
display at the left.
Turn the shuttle :ring right. The VCR will fast forward or
rewind to the point you select.
If you want to search to another point on the same tape, you do
not need to press the CANCEL button in step O.
_Important:
If the VCR reaches the end of the tape before finding the point
you've chosen, the search is canceled; if the, ¥CR has reached the
beginning of the tape, it will begin playback. The tape may not
search to the exact point you have chosen.

Searching for a blank portion of tape
Use "Search to blank" to find the next blank portion of a tape.
O Press the MENU button on the remote control to display _he
'_VCR Main Menu."
O Turn the ADJUST dial on the remote control to move the
cursor next to "Advanced Features." Turn the shuttle ring
right. ("Advanced Features" are not available if there is no
tape in the VCR, or if the VCR :is recording.)

The "Advanced Features':' :menu will appear on your screen.
The cursor will be next to "Search to blank". Turn the shuttle
ring right. The VCR will fast forward and stop at the first
blank (unrecorded) section of tape. If the VCR reaches the end
of the tape, the search is canceled.
DImportant: If there is no tape loaded in the VCR, or if the VCR is recording,
you will see an error message, indicating that this feature is not
available. Load a tape into the VCR or stop recording.
Indexsearch techniques
Index search is a very useful way to find specific points on a tape.
Index search works by placing index marks at important ]places
on a tape. Then, you use index search to find these marks. Index
marks are added automatically whenever your VCR starts a new
recording; you can also add index marks manually at any spot.
