This feature
allows you to visually
check the
position
of the tape
during
fast forward
or rewind.
O
While the tape is in fast forward
or rewind
(without
picture),
press and hold either
the FF or REW button
(whichever
is the
same as what the tape is doing).
O
After a short delay, you will see the contents
of the videotape,
still in speed search.
The picture
will stay on the screen as
long as you hold down the button
O
When you release
the button,
the tape will resume
fast
forwarding
or rewinding
without
a picture.

Searchingby time
You can use the time counter
to search to a specific point on a
tape.
_]! Press the MENU button
on the remote
control to display the
"VCR Main Menu."
Press the JOG/ADJUST
buttons
on the reraote control
to
rE>
move the cursor next to "Search
by time." Press the ENr
E
button
on the remote
control.
If there is no tape loaded in the VCR, or if the VCR is recording,
then the words "Not available"
will flash. Load a 1;ape into the
VCR or stop recording.
O
You will see the "Search
by time '>menu. Press the JOG!
ADJUST
buttons
to set the point on the tape to which you
want to search,
in hours and minutes.
Hold down the JOG/
ADJUST
buttons
to set the hour and minutes
in 10-minute
intervals.
Press the JOG/ADJUST
button
repeatedly
to set
single minutes.
You can also use the number
buttons
to set
the hours, minutes,
and seconds.
To clear the time you have entered,
press CANCEL.
O
Press the ENTER button.
(If you used the number
buttons
to
set the time, you do not need to press
the ENTER
button.)
The VCR will fast forward
or rewind
to the point you select
and begin playing.
Press the STOP or PLAY button
to cancel time search.
If the VCR reaches
the end of the tape before tlnding the point
you've chosen, the search is canceled
and the VCR will stop; if the
VCR reaches
the beginning
of the tape, it will be_,dn playback.
The tape may not search
to the exact point you have chosen.
