SPEED
OPTIONS
The Speed Options use a combinationof
conventionalradiant heat from the bake
and broilelementswith added microwave
energyto quicklycookfood. Plus,a Defrost
cycle is includedto thaw food items.
The correctamount of cooking time is
very importantto overallresults. Most
itemscook in halfthetime of a conven-
tional oven.
The optionsare as follows:

Thissettingusesa slightlyhigheramountof
microwaveenergyalongwithconventional
radiantheat to cook foods suchas meats,
poultry,fish,casseroles,pizza(regularand
self-rise) and frozen conveniencefoods
packagedin aluminum foil containers.

BAKED GOODS,
EGG DISHESPAD
Thissettingusesa slightly loweramountof
microwaveenergya_ng with conventional
radiantheat to gently cook delicate foods
suchas egg andcheesebakeddishesand
baked goods such as cakes, breads and
muffins.
Thissettingusesmicrowave energyonlyto
defrostany food including t urkey and large
cuts of meat.

heattoheatfrozenconvenience foodspack-
aged in heatproofpaper and plasticcon-
tainers,
SETTINGTHESPEEDOPTIONS

Selecttheappropriate rackposition (see
page 11).Placethefoodin theovenand
close the ovendoor.
2. Pressthe appropriate speedpad. 0:00
wilt appear in the display.
3. Enter the conventional cooking time
recommended intherecipe,followedby
the AUTO SET pad.

:_ Pressingthe AUTOSET padwill
automaticallycalculateone halfof
the conventional c ookingtime.
Ifthe speedcookingtimeis known
(halftheconventional cookingtime),
enterthat time. DoNOT pressthe
AUTOSET pad.The timewillnot
be cut in half.
Whenthe cookingtimeisset, theoven
will automatically turn on and a fan will
be heard. Do NOT set an oven tem-
perature. Do NOTpreheatthe oven.
If an oven temperatureis selected,the
Speed Optionwill be canceledand the
ovenwill cook conventionafly.
At75 % ofthe cookingtime,a beepwill
sound and CHECKFOODwifi be dis-
played. Check the food and continue
cookingor removefood, if done.
At the end of the cookingtime, a beep
will sound and the control will scroll
ENTER MORE TIME IF NEEDED. if
additional c ooking timeisneeded,press
the appropriatenumber pads to add
time. Up to 10 minutesof time may be
added.(Timemay be addedmorethan
once, ifneeded.)
Whencookingis complete,pressCAN-
CEL pad, Removefoodfrom theoven.
Speed Option-
1, Placethefoodinthe ovenandclosethe
ovendoor.
2, Press the Defrost pad. 0:00 will be
displayed.
3. Entertheappmpriatedefrosttime.(Re-
fer to the CookingGuide for defrost
timesandadditionalinformation.)
4. When defrosting i s complete, p ressthe
CANCELpad. Removefoodfrom the
oven.

CHECKINGTHEFOOD
Mostfoodswillcookin approximately half
thecenventionat cooking time.Somefoods,
such as vegetables,may take less time,
We recommend checking the cooking
progress.
Thefoodmay be checked anytime during
baking. When the door is opened the
microwaveenergyimmediately stops. To
continuecooking,close the door and the
set time will continueto countdown nor-
mally.
Whenthe cookingtime hasreached75%
ofthe enteredtime,thecontrolwillbeepto
indicatethat the food shouldbe checked.
Checkfoodand cooklonger,if needed.
At the cendusionofthecycle, t he controt
will g ointoa hold modeandENTERMORE
TIME IF NEEDEDwill scroll. Checkthe
foodagain. Upto 10 minutesof timemay
beaddedatthistime,ifthefoodisnot done.
