Engine Oil

Forsubsequenl _Fups,usethegradeof engineoil specified on page
14.Toaddoil:
1. Remove thedipstickfromtheoil fill.,Pourfreshoil slowlythrough
theplug,Replace dipstick
2 Checkandmakesurethat thelevelof oil is up tothe FULLmarkon
thedipstick.
Gasoline
Gasoline isflammable a ndcautionmustbe usedwhenhandling
I orsloringit, Donotfillfueltankwhitethesnowthrower i s running,

cleanandfreefromrust or otherforeignparticlesMakesureto
wipeoff anyspilledfuelbeforestartingtheengine,
3 At theendof thejob,emptythefueltankif thesnowthrower is not
goingto beusedfor30 daysor longer Storegasoline in a clean

Electric Starter

Theoptionalelectricstarteris equipped with a grounded three-wire
_ewer c ordandplug,andis designed tooperateon 120volt AC
household currenLIt mustbe usedwith a properlygrounded three_
prongreceptacle at all timestoavoidthe possibility of electricshock
If yourhome'swiringsystemis nota three-wire grounded system,
do notusethis electricstarterunderanyconditions, I f yourhome
electrical s ystem isgrounded, b uta three-hole receptacle isnot
available, d o notuseyoursnowthrower's electricstarter Follow all

sureto coverventhole inthe centerof theprimerwhenpushing
NOTE: D ONOTusepdmer t orestart a warm engine after a short s hutdown
6, Pushstarterbuttonto startengine.
7 Oncetheengine starts,release starterbutton
8. Asthe engine warms,slowlyrotate(left)thechokecontroltothe
OFFposition If the engine falters,quicklyrotatethechokecontrol
backto FLILL I.,#1 andthenslowlyintothe OFFposition again
9 Whendisconnecting t he extension cord,always unplug the endat
thethree-prong wall o utletbeforeunplugging the opposite endfrom
thesnowthrower,
Recoil Starter
1,, Rotate chokecontrol(right)to FULL l.#l chokeposition(cold
engine start)°

below15 ° Fahrenheit
5. Grasptherecoilstarterhandleandslowlypullthe ropeout Atthe
pointwhereit becomes slightlyharderto pullthe rope, s lowlyallow
the ropeto recoil,,
6 Pullthe starterhandlewith a firm,rapidstroke Do notrelease the
handleandallowitto snapback,Keepa firmhold on thestarter
handleandallowitto slowlyrecoil,,
