NOTE:Operation of thissnowthrower o n gravel i snotrecommended a s

on gravel, k eepskidshoein highest p osition for maximum clearance.
1. Adjust s kidshoes by loosening t wonutsandcaniage bolts on each
skid shoe,andmoving skidshoetothedesired position, SeeFigure 4.
2. Make certaintheentirebottomsurfaceof skidshoeis againstthe
ground toavoiduneven wearon theskid shoes
3 Tightennutsandboltssecurely.

Final Adjustments
IMPORTANT:Checktheadjustments asinstructed andmakeany
finaladjustments necessary beforeoperating theunffCheckall nuts
andboltsfortightness.Failure to followlheseinstructions maycause
damagetounit..
Tire Pressure
Theproperinflation pressure is 20 psi Checkthetirepressure periodi-
rally andmaintain equalpressure in bothtires at all times.Excessive
pressure (wellabove20 psi)maycausethewheel(tire/rim)assembly
to burstwith sufficient forceto causeserious injury.. Donotover-inflate
thetire.Usea manual p umporportable e lectrictireinflatortoprevent
over-inflation. NEVER USEANAIR COMPRESSOR.
Auger Control Test
IMPORTANT: Perform thefollowing testbeforeoperating thesnow
thrower f orthefirsttimeand atthestartof eachwinter season.
Checktheadjustment of theaugercontrolasfollows:
I Whenaugercontrolis released and in thedisengaged "up"posi-
tion,cableshouldhaveverylittle slack,but shouldNOTbe tight
Donotover4ighten thecable.Over-tightening m ayprevent t heauger
fromdisengaging andcompromise the safetyof thesnowthrower.
2 In a well-ventilated a rea,startthesnowthrowerengineasin-
structed on page10 under theheading StartingEngine Makesure
thethrottleis setin the FAST
position..
3. Whilestanding inoperator's position(behindunit)engage auger.
4. Allowaugerto remainengaged forapproximately t en (10)seconds
beforereleasing theaugercontrol Repeat t his severa! t imes
5 Withthe engine runninginthe FAST_
positionandtheauger
controlinthedisengaged "up"pesitionTwalk tothefront o f the
machine
6 Confirmthattheaugerhascompletely stoppedrotating and shows
NOsignsofmotion
IMPORTANT: If theaugershows ANYsignsofrotating, immediately return
to theoperators position andshutofftheengineWait f oratlmoving paris
to stopbefore readiusting
