Adjusting The Auger Cable
Periodic adjustment t otheaugercontrolcablemaybe required due
to normal stretchandwearon thebeR1 A djustment i s needed if the
augersseemto hesitatewhileturning,buttheenginemaintains speed,
or continue turningwiththe augercontroldisengaged..
1. Loosentherearhexboltonthe cableadjustmenl b racket.See
Figure12.
2 SIidethe cable adjustment b racketbackwards takingouttheslack
in theaugercable
3 Retighten therearhexbolt
4. Startengineandverify augercontrol e ngagesanddisengages
properly.
NOTE:If augercontinues to rotatewith thecontroldisengaged, shut
off theengineandreadjust t hecablebracketforwardThenrecheck
theaugeroperation
Checking Oil Level
Beforeoperating snowthrower,checktheoil ]evet b yfollowing steps
below..
1. Withengineon levelground,oil mustbe toFULLmarkon dipstick
See Figure13
2. Stopengine andwaitseveral m inutesbeforecheckingoil level
Remove oil fill capanddipstick
3. Wipedipstick clean,insert i tintooil fill holeandtightensnugly
4 Remove dipstickandcheck If oil isnotup to theFULLmarkon
dipstick,addoil
Changing Oil
Change engineoil afterfirsttwo hoursofoperationandevery25 hours
thereafter. Inorderto changeoil,youwill havetofirstdraintheused
engineo1I fromtheengineand thenrefillwithfreshoil
1 Drainoilwhile engine iswarmRemove o ii drain pluglocated atthebot-
tomoftherecoil s tarter o ftheengine. Catch oil ina suitable container
2 Whenengineisdrained of eli oil,replacedrainplugsecurety
3 Remove thedipstickfrom theoilIibL Foriocation of theoilfill, see
Figure6. Pour freshoil slowlythroughtheplug Replace dipstick
4. Checkandmakesurethat thelevelof oil is up tothe FULLmarkon
thedipstick.
NOTE:Althoughmulti-viscosity o ils (5W30, 1 0W30, e tc.)improve
startingin coldweather, theycouldalsoresultin higheroilconsump-
tionwhenusedabove32' E Checkyoursnowthrower's engine oil
levelmorefrequently to avoidpossibleengine damage from running
