Dolby DigRal
Dolby Digital is a digital signal compressi(m
method, developed by Dolby Laboratories, and
enables multi-chaurlel erlcodiug arid decodiug
{lch up to 5. Ioh).

and digitally compresses the ]e_qfl'ont chamle[,

Pro Logic. As such, tile sound movemeut aud

than Dolby Pro Logic.

DTS Digital Surround
DTS Digital Surrouud is another discrete

CD, LD, and DVD software.
Compared to Dolby Digital, the DTS Digital
Surround format has a lower audio compression
rate which enables it to add breadth and depth
to the souuds reproduced. As such, DTS Digital
Surround features natural, solid, aud clear
SOHlld.
Dolby Pro Logic ll
It is a multi-charme[ playback tbrmat to convert
2-chaunel software into 5-chanue] (plus
subwoofcr). The matrix-based conversion
method used tbr Dolby Pro Logic ]] makes no
limitation _\w the cutoff frequency of the
surround treble and enables stereo surround
soHl_d.
* This refit provides two types of Dolby Pro
Logic 11modes Pro Logic ii "MOVIE" and
Pro Logic ii "MUSIC."
MOVIE: Suitable for playiug auy Dolby
Surround encoded software.
MUSIC: Suitable for playing auy 2-chauue]
stereo software.
No sound m_ 9" come out of the subwo@r
(though the subwoofer is activated) with
Dolby Pro Logic II in use. (This depends on
your speaker setting--see page 5J ).
