A newly-installed
refrigerator may take 12-24 hours to begin making ice.
Automatic Icemaker (onsomemodels)
There are 2 types of icemakers:
Power
Switch
Power switch model
,
FeelerArmin
theSTOP
Feeler A rm in (up)position

position
Feeler arm model
The icemaker will
produce
approximately
3 to 3½ lbs. of ice in a 24-horn period,
depending
on tile fleezer compartment
mmperatme,
room temperature,
number
of door openings and other use conditions.
If tile refrigerator is operamd befbre tile
wamr connection
is made to tile icemake_;
move tile feeler arm to tile STOP(up)
position.
¼,qlen the refligerator
has been connecmd
to tile wamr suppl> move tile feeler aml to
tile ON (down) position.
Tile icemaker will fill with water when it
cools to 15°E A newly-insudled refligerator
m W rake 12 to 24 hom_ to begin making
ice cubes.
Once file icemaker
starts to make ice,
it may rake up to 48 hom_
to fill file bin,
depending
on tile temperatme
setdngs
and number
of door openings.
You will hear a buzzing
sound each time
tile icemaker
fills with water:
Throw
away tile fi_t few batches
of ice
to allow tile water line to clear
Be sure nothing
interferes
with tile sweep
of the fe.eler aml.
When tile bin fills to the level of the feeler
aml, the icemaker
will stop producing
ice.
It is ncwmal fbr several cubes to be joined
together
If ice is not used flequenfly;
okt ice cubes
will become
cloudy; taste stole, shrink
or
fi_se together
On power switch models, file green power
light will blink if ice cubes get stuck in tile
icemaker To correct this, set tile power
switch to 0 (Off)and remove tile cubes.
Set the power switch to I (on) to restart the
icemaker After the icemaker has been
mined on again, there will be a del W of
about 45 minutes befbre tile icemaker

NOTE:Inhomes with/owe>than-average water

timeswhenmaking onebatchof ice.

Water Filter Accessory
Tile water filter is an option at extra cost
and is available flom your dealer Specif_,
_a,_97X0214. It has complete insudlafion
instmcdons and installs on 1/4" O.D.
copper wamr line or plastic robing that
is included in a GE SmartConnecg"
Refligerator
Tubing kit. When using the
plastic robing, an additional piece of plastic
robing (X_,PX08X10002)must also be
ordered since tile plastic robing should
not
be
cut.
NOTE:TheonlygE approved p lastictubingis that
suppliedin GESmartConnecF Refrigerator T ubing
kits.Donot useanyotherplasticwatersupply line
because theline is under pressure at aft times.
Certain typesofplasticwill crackor rupturewith
ageandcausewaterdamage toyourhome.
To Use the Oispenser
(on some models)
Tile water dispenser is located on tile left
wall inside the refligerator
compamnent.
Todispensewater:
Hold file glass against tile recess.
O
Push file water dispenser
button.
O
Hold tile glass underneath
the
dispenser
fbr 2-3 seconds
after
releasing
the dispenser
button.
Water may continue
to dispense
after the button
is released.
If no wateris dispensed whentherefrigerator i s first
installed, t heremaybe air in thewaterlinesystem.
Press thedispenser buttonforat least2 minutesto
remove trapped air fromthewaterlineand tofill the
watersystem. D uringthisprocess, t hedispenser
noisemaybe loudastheair is purged from the
waterlinesystem.Toflushoutimpurities in the
waterline,throwaway thefirst6 glassfuls of wate_
NOTE: Toavoid water deposits,the dispenser
shouldbe cleanedperiodicallyby wiping with a
cleancloth or sponge.
