To avoid injury,never put lubricantson the
blade while it is spinning.

To avoid fire or toxic reaction, never use
gasoline, naphtha, acetone, lacquer thinner
or other similar highly volatilesolvents to
clean the miter saw.
To avoid injuryfrom unexpected starting
or electrical shock, unplug the power cord
beforeworking on the saw.
For your safety,this saw is double-
insulated.To avoid electrical shock, fire or
injury use only replacement parts identical
to those identified in the schematic
diagram.
CHECKING ANDREPLACING CARBON
BRUSHES (Fig.DD)
Replace both carbon brushes if either has lessthan
1/4 in.length of carbon remaining, or if the spring or
wire is damaged or burned.
To remove the brushes:
Unscrew the plasticcaps found at the beck of
the motor. Be careful as the caps are spring-
loaded.
Withdraw the brusheswith their springs.
If replacement is necessary r insert now
brushes and replace the caps.
NOTE: Used but serviceable brushes can be
replaced, but only as long as they are returned
to the same position,and insertedthe same way
round, as they were removed from the machine.
(Fig. DD) Diagrams show top and bottom
brush caps.
DUST COLLECTION BAG
To maintainextraction efficiency,empty the Dust
Collection Bag when it becomes approximately 2/3
full. Dispose of the contents in an environmentally
responsible way.The beg has a side zip opening.
LOWER BLADE GUARD
WARNING 1
Do not use the saw if the Lower Blade Guard is
damaged or not operating correctly.A damaged or
non-functioningguard must be replaced before the
saw is used.A replacement guard must be tested
for efficientand safe operationwith the machine
disconnected from the power source.The guard
operates automaticallyas the Cutting Head is raised
or lowered.
Run new brushes without load for 5 minutes.
This will help the break-in process.
