management tool to move the virtual machines from this server to another server in case of
"UPS on battery state" and Maintenance Timer elapsed).

Maintenance timer Î Time elapsed "on battery state" before the Dell Multi UPS
Management Console script changes the state of the Hypervisor to maintenance mode.

Remote Shutdown Î Enabled or Disabled (When enabled, it allows Dell Multi UPS
Management Console to gracefully shutdown this server in case of "UPS on battery state"
and Shutdown criteria reached)

PowerSource Î The UPS powering this server (this node has to exist in Dell Multi UPS
Management Console)

Load segment Î UPS load segment powering the server

Master – Shutdown duration Î Server Shutdown criteria (time needed for server graceful
shutdown)

Master – Shutdown after value Î Server Shutdown criteria (time elapsed "on battery state"
before graceful Shutdown) (This timer must be greater than the maintenance timer)
Note: 1 value means that timer is disabled.

7.9.2. SECOND TYPE OF NODES (DELL MUMC DETECTS DELL ULNM RUNNING ON
THE VMHOST)
There is a Dell UPS Local Node Manager installed on the server that is hosting the Hypervisor
(VMHost). In such case the Shutdown is done by this Dell UPS Local Node Manager.
In this case, the node contains both parameter types:
x
The remote maintenance mode feature parameters.
x
The Dell UPS Local Node Manager shutdown parameters (as an Dell UPS Local Node Manager
will perform locally the shutdown).
Note: all the parameters are retrieved from the Dell UPS Local Node Manager, and you will
configure the Dell UPS Local Node Manager from Dell Multi UPS Management Console in this
Node Configuration Panel.
