ESTPAIR

The following table describes the PPRCOPY ESTPAIR command parameters used to create pairs.

When you do not specify the parameter, the result is the same as when you specify NO for this parameter.

DDNAME = dname = JCL statement identifying
the volume.
SYSNAME = sysxxx = SYSNAME in the ASSGN
system control statement.
UNITADDRESS = ccuu = device number.
Primary volume (S-VOL): SSID, serial number,
channel connection address.
To request the Add and Split operation, set
MSF00 instead of a serial number. This parameter
is valid for MODE(COPY) or MODE(NOCOPY)
only.
To create pairs in a consistency group, set
MAnn0 instead of a serial number. nn is a CTG
ID.
Secondary volume (T-VOL): SSID, serial number,
channel connection address.

Description
Only one of the three parameters should be
specified. The italic term is the arbitrary name.
For example, dname is the arbitrary unique
name of the JCL statement which identifies the
volume.
These parameters must be used for successful
execution of the command.

The storage system recognizes only COPY for
the MODE parameter, even if NOCOPY is
specified.
Copy speed is medium, regardless what is
specified for the PACE parameter.
Not used by Business Copy Z.
Do not specify this parameter when
MODE(RESYNC) is set, otherwise it ends
abnormally reporting CC = 12.
MSGREQ function is not applicable.

Pair create operation is performed whether the
T-VOL is online or not.
