At-Time Split, in which all pairs in a copy group are split at the same time. Split time indicates
the time when you want to mirror S-VOL data in the T-VOLs. Business Continuity Manager is
required.
Split all pairs in a consistency group. This operation requires PPRC and is similar to the At-Time
Split using Business Continuity Manager. However, with the PPRC operation, the split-time
cannot be specified, and the operation can only be used with Quick Split. Steady Split is
unavailable for this operation. See

Prerequisite information
Pair status must be one of the following:
Duplex when splitting an existing pair
Simplex when creating and immediately splitting a pair
When splitting an existing pair, the operation completes faster by stopping host access to the
S-VOL before the operation.
Procedure 5 To split a pair, or create and split a pair
1.
Click Actions > Local Copy > Business Copy for Mainframe/Compatible FlashCopy > Pair

In the tree, select the CU image where the pairs or volumes are located.
Related volumes display in the volume list. If a volume is already paired, pair information also
displays.
