In the default setting, the camera detects smiling faces using face priority and
releases the shutter automatically (smile timer function). The skin softening
function makes a human subject's skin appear smoother:

Rotate
the
mode
dial

• The camera enters smart portrait mode.

• Point the camera at the subject.
• When the camera detects a face, the focus area
containing the face will be displayed with a yellow
doubJe border, and when focus is locked the doubWe
border will turn green for a moment.
• Up to three faces can be detected. When more than
one face is detected, the face cWosestto the center of the frame is framed by a double
border and the others by single borders.
• When more than one face is detected, press the _) button to choose on which face to
focus. Press _ i_ on the multi sdector to choose the face on which to focus and press
the _) button.

The shutter
is automatically
released.
• If the camera detects that the face framed by the doubWe border is smiling, the Smile
timer function (_57)
automatically
releases the shutter.
When the flash does not fire, the shutter is released five times each time a picture is
taken, and the picture in which the most people have smiles is saved.
When the camera detects a face, the sdfitimer
lamp ([:::_4) blinks. Immediately after
the shutter is released, the self-timer lamp flickers. Each time the shutter is released, the
camera repeats automatic shooting
by face priority and smile detection.
• The shutter can also be released by pressing the shutter release button. If no face is
detected, the camera focuses on the subject in center of frame.
• When the shutter is released, the camera makes the subject's skin appear smoother,
then records the image (Skin softening
