The self timer
is useful for taking pictures
of yourself,
such as in group souvenir
shots,
or if you want to reduce ca mera shake when you press the shutter
release button.
You
can select a two
second or ten second
timer.
When
using the selhtimer}
use of a tripod
is recommended.
When the camera
is
stabilized
with a tripod,
set Vibration
reduction
([_160)
to Off in the setup
menu
(1:_152).

multi
selector.
• The self-timer menu is displayed.

• 2s (two seconds): suitable for preventing camera shake.
• The mode selected for selfitimer is displayed.
• Ifa setting is not applied by pressing the _) button
within a few seconds, the selection will be cancelled.

• Focus and exposure will be set.

Press the shutter-release
button the
rest of the way down.
• The self-timer starts, and the number of
seconds remaining until the shutter is
released is displayed in the monitor. The se]fl
timer lamp will blink. The lamp stops blinking
one second before the picture is taken and
remains lit until the shutter is released.
• When the shutter is released, the sefftimer
turns OFF.
• To stop the timer before a picture is taken,
press the shutter-release button again.
