The operator's
manual

tion against serious
injuries,
including:
Loss of fingers,
hand,
arm
or leg from
contact
with
the saw blade.
Eye injuries,
including
being blinded
from
being hit by a thrown
workpiece,
workpiece
chips or pieces
of the saw blade.
Impact
injuries,

broken
bones
and
internal
organ damage,
from being hit by a
thrown
workpiece,

Major Hazards
1. Workpiece
Kickback
Kickback
is an uncontrolled
grabbing
and
throwing
of the workpiece
during
ripping.
If
kickback
occurs, the workpiece
can hit
you hard enough
to cause broken
bones,
in-
ternal
organ injury or death.
To reduce
or
prevent
kickback,
read and follow the safety
information
in the Ripping
section
of the
manual.

Use anti-kickback
pawls/spreader.

Followed

Contact
Kickback
followed
by blade contact
can hap-
pen when the saw blade is pinched
or bound
by the workpiece
during
ripping.
Kickback
can happen
if you reach around
the blade to
the end with the anti-kickback
pawls, (out-
feed end), and try to hold-down
or pull the
workpiece
through
to complete
the cut. Your
fingers,
hand, or arm can be cut off by the
blade if the workpiece
kicks back.
