Fax-related error messages
Phone Line Busy
These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following:
Change redial settings
The printer automatically redials three times at 2-minute intervals. You can change the default settings to redial up
to five times at intervals up to 8 minutes.
To change the redial settings:

Press or repeatedly until the Fax Setup submenu is highlighted.

Press or repeatedly until the Dialing and Sending submenu is highlighted.

To change the length of time between redials:

Press or repeatedly until you reach Redial Time.

Press or repeatedly until the setting you want appears.

Press to save.

To change the number of times the printer will redial:

Press or repeatedly until you reach Redial Tries.

Press to save.
Schedule to resend fax at a later time

Fax Error
The fax machines have stopped communicating.
Resend the fax. There may have been a problem with the quality of the telephone line connection.
Failed to Connect
These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following:
Use phone line checklist

Resend the fax. There may have been a problem with the quality of the telephone line connection.

Place a test call to the telephone number to which you want to send a fax to make sure that it is working correctly.
•
If the telephone line is being used by another device, wait until the other device is finished before sending the
fax.
