Fax cannot be received

If the fax cannot be received, refer to the following table, and then perform
the indicated operations. If the fax still cannot be received correctly, even af-
ter performing the described operations, contact your service representative.

Detail
The Internet Fax RX Error Report is printed out in cases such as reception
of unsupported file types. For details on the Internet Fax RX Error Report,
refer to "Internet Fax RX Error Report" on page 10-13.
When Nxx type error code is displayed, refer to "Error Messages" on
page 4-7.
For details on the troubleshooting procedures for original misfeed, paper
misfeed, poor print quality, or empty toner, refer to the User's Guide
[Copy Operations].

Fax cannot be re-
ceived

Checkpoints
Is the paper loaded?
Is the paper blocked?
Is the toner empty?
Is the network cable
connected correctly?
Is there memory short-
age or inadequate hard
disk capacity?
Remedy
When the paper load icon lights up and there
is no paper, the received original is stored in
the memory.
Load the paper.
For the details on the paper loading opera-
tion, refer to the User's Guide [Copy Opera-
tions].
If there is a paper misfeed, the received doc-
ument is stored in the memory.
Remove the blocked paper.
For the details on the paper misfeed, refer to
the User's Guide [Copy Operations].
Fax cannot be received if the toner is empty.
Replace the toner cartridge immediately.
For the details on the toner cartridge replace-
ment, refer to the User's Guide [Copy Opera-
tions].
Check the network cable connection and
connect properly if it is disconnected.
Check the remaining capacity of memory and
the hard disk.
If the remaining capacity is inadequate, fax
cannot be received or it cannot be printed
even if it is be received.
