D. Fans
1. Summary
There are 4 fan motors installed to circu-
late air within the printer and prevent
the internal temperature from rising.
• Fixing unit/scanner unit fan (FM1):
Blows air from the fixing unit and the
scanner unit vicinity.
• Power supply fan (FM2):
Blows air from the power supply.
• Electrical unit fan (FM3):
Intake fan for the video controller unit.
• Fixing unit fan (FM4):
Blows air from the fixing unit vicinity.
• Multi-purpose tray pick-up unit
(FM5):
Blows air to the
laser/scanner unit vicinity.

2. Fixing unit/scanner unit fan
1) Remove the right rear and rear covers.
2) Remove the upper cover unit.
3) Disconnect the connector.
