System Programming and Maintenance (SPM)
To upgrade to Release 2.0:
— SPM Version 2.xx to back up and convert system programming
information and, after the new feature module has been
installed, to restore system programming information
— Release 2.0 feature module
— (for floppy disk PCs only) DOS-formatted diskette
NOTE:
If SPM is already installed, the initial Welcome to SPM screen that
appears when you start SPM identifies the existing version on the last line.
If you are working with Version 2.xx, V2 appears in the upper left-hand
corner of the screen.

Inter-Release Compatibility

It is important to understand compatibilities between files created on each of
the different versions of SPM and the different feature modules of the
communications system, not only for upgrading, but also for programming.
Table 3 summarizes programming compatibility. (It is assumed that the
majority of the programming is done in surrogate mode and backed up on
disk.)
