5.2 Fault Code Definitions
FAULT CODE
"dPO" Indicator
Defrost sensor is open
"PO" Indicator
Water temperature sensor is open
"dPC" Indicator
Defrost sensor is shorted
"PC" Indicator
Water temperature sensor is
shorted
"HP" Indicator
Refrigerant system's high-pressure
switch is open.
"HP5" Indicator
Heat Pump has locked out due to
five (5) HP (high-pressure) faults
during one call for heating or
cooling.
RULE OUT
Cut or loose
Defrost sensor requires replacement.
sensor wiring.
Cut or loose
Water temperature sensor requires replacement.
sensor wiring.
Short circuit in
the defrost
Defrost sensor requires replacement.
sensor wiring or
defective sensor.
Short circuit in
water sensor
Water temperature sensor requires replacement.
wiring or
defective sensor.
STEP 1:
See resolution for "FLO" Indicator. If error re-occurs,
Low water flow.
proceed to next step.
STEP 2:
Defective high-
Identify which refrigerant circuit is causing fault.
pressure switch
Replace high-pressure switch for that circuit. If error
or wiring.
re-occurs, proceed to next step.
STEP 3:
A qualified HVAC technician should confirm coolant
High refrigerant
charge is correct for both refrigerant circuits. See heat
charge.
pump data plate for correct charge and verify charge.
Please note – improperly charging the system can
void manufacturer's warranty.

pump by turning power off, then back on. If error re-
occurs, proceed to next step.
STEP 2:
