About content licensing

A content license is a grant by Symantec Corporation to update computers using
Symantec software. Content licensing ensures that Symantec products receive
the latest updates for a specified period of time. Content updates include virus
and security risk definitions.
A content license must be allocated to or installed on each computer that is
running Symantec AntiVirus.
Note: In some enterprises, Symantec content updates are governed by a site
license. In these cases, content licenses are not applied and you do not need to
refer to this section.
