Installing additional memory

The following notes describe the types of dual inline memory modules (DIMMs) that
the blade server supports and other information that you must consider when you
install DIMMs:
v The blade server system board contains eight DIMM connectors (four DIMM
v The system supports error correcting code (ECC) protected, industry-standard
v The server supports two-way memory interleaving.
v Depending on the memory configuration, the blade server can support a
v The optional DIMMs that are available for the blade server are 1 GB, 2 GB, and
v All DIMMs must be installed in pairs of the same size, speed, type, technology,
v If you want to take advantage of Chipkill memory, each DIMM that is installed in
v For a current list of supported DIMMs for the blade server, see
v For each installed microprocessor, a set of four DIMM connectors is enabled (see
connectors per processor). If an MPE is installed, there are also eight DIMM
connectors (four DIMM connectors per processor) on the MPE system board.
