Go to http://www.ibm.com/support/ to download the program; then, copy the files
bmc.exe and Init.ini to a setup utility diskette.
Complete the following steps to start the baseboard management controller setup
utility program:
1. Turn on the server.
2. Insert the setup utility diskette into the diskette drive.
3. From a command line, type bmc and press Enter.
Note: The Intf.ini file parameters must be set correctly for the utility program to
interface with the baseboard management controller. To modify the Init.ini file, select
0 from the main menu and use the arrow keys to select values for the following
parameters:
v System Interface: This is the interface through which system software sends
v Port Address: This is the base address for the system interface.
v Register Spacing: Select ByteBoundary, ThirtyTwoBitBoundary, or
v Channel Number: Use the arrow keys to select the channel number (0-15).
v DHCP Mode: This is the LAN configuration address source.
Using the baseboard management controller configuration utility
program
Use the baseboard management controller configuration utility program to view or
change the baseboard management controller configuration settings and to save
the configuration to a file for use on multiple servers.
Go to http://www.ibm.com/support/ to download the utility program; then, copy the
file bmc_cfg.exe to a configuration utility diskette.
