Replacing the Front Panel I/O Board

The Front Panel I/O Board provides an interface to the controls at the front of the server
system, the power interconnect for the server board, the USB2 and Serial B interface, and
the front panel LED interface connect. To replace the Front Panel I/O Board, the following
components must be removed:
All cable connections on the Front Panel I/O Board and selected connections from
other board / components
Processor Air Duct
Power supply
Power distribution board
Light pipe
Use the instructions below to remove the Front Panel I/O Board, remove and replace the
light pipe, and install a replacement front panel board.
CAUTION
Before replacing any of the server boards, you must first take the
server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the
system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug
the AC power cord from the system or wall outlet or disconnect the
DC mains.

Removing the Front Panel I/O Board

1. Power down the server system and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power
cable or the DC mains.
