Replacing a Merge Module in an .MSI or .WSI Package

Software Manager Reference
The Revision Control Status dialog box appears if one of the following is true:
A selected package is checked out by another user.
A selected package is checked in and the Check out from Revision Control
option is not marked.
The dialog box explains how the listed packages will be processed. To proceed, click
OK.
The Wise Task Manager dialog box appears and remains open until the operation is
completed. However, you can close or minimize the dialog box and continue your
work in Wise Package Studio.

In Software Manager, you can perform an operation that replaces a merge module in
one or more .MSI or .WSI packages.
Note
The replacement merge module and the .MSI or .WSI packages must be in the Software
Manager database.
To replace a merge module in an .MSI or .WSI package
1.
(Enterprise Management Server only.) If multiple databases are open, select a
database in the Applications/Packages pane.
2.
Select Tools menu > Merge Module Wizard.
The Select Merge Module Operation dialog box appears.
3.
Mark Replace Merge Module and click Next.
The Merge Modules to Replace dialog box appears. It displays all merge modules
that are part of .MSI or .WSI packages in the Software Manager database.
4.
Select the merge module to replace and click Next.
The Replacement Merge Module dialog box appears. It displays all merge module
packages that are in the Software Manager database.
5.
Select the replacement merge module and click Next.
The Packages dialog box appears.
6.
Complete the dialog box:
a.
Select the packages on which to perform the merge module replacement.
b.
To perform the operation server-side, mark Perform this operation on the
Wise Package Studio server. With Enterprise Management Server, Security
Setup determines whether this option appears.

c.
Mark Check out from Revision Control to check these packages out of
Revision Control. This option appears only if you use the Wise Revision Control
System. When the operation is completed, you must check the package back
into Revision Control manually.
