In Software Manager, you can perform an operation that adds one or more merge
modules to one or more .MSI or .WSI packages.
Note
The merge modules and the packages must be in the Software Manager database.
To add merge modules to an .MSI or .WSI package
1.
(Enterprise Management Server only.) If multiple databases are open, select a
database in the Applications/Packages pane.
2.
Select Tools menu > Merge Module Wizard.
The Select Merge Module Operation dialog box appears.
3.
Mark Add Merge Module(s) and click Next.
The Merge Modules to Add dialog box appears. It displays all merge module
packages that are in the Software Manager database.
4.
Select the merge modules to add and click Next.
The Packages dialog box appears.
5.
Complete the dialog box:
a.
Select the packages to add the merge modules to.
b.
To perform the operation server-side, mark Perform this operation on the
Wise Package Studio server. With Enterprise Management Server, Security
Setup determines whether this option appears.

c.
Mark Check out from Revision Control to check these packages out of
Revision Control. This option appears only if you use the Wise Revision Control
System. When the operation is completed, you must check the package back
into Revision Control manually.

d.
Mark Duplicate Package to create a new package instead of changing the
existing package. If the package has already been distributed, you can use this
option to retain a copy of the distributed package. The duplicate package has
the same application name as the original package, with a number in
parenthesis appended to its package name. The duplicate package has a new
package code, repository ID, and version.
6.
Click Finish.
The Revision Control Status dialog box appears if one of the following is true:
A selected package is checked out by another user.
