Connecting the Handshake Phone

The first phone you connect to the Services Router is called the "handshake phone." This is
the phone you will use to make a "handshake" with the Service Node.
Here's how to connect the handshake phone:
1. Plug one end of the supplied Category 5 RJ-45 to RJ-45 cable into the Ethernet port on
the back of the handshake phone.
2. Plug the other end into any LAN Port on the SVR3000.
Verify Installation
1. Verify that the green LED for the corresponding LAN port is illuminated.
2. Wait for the phone to boot. (It could take a few minutes). The LEDs will perform a self-test
and you'll see some activity on the phone display. All buttons on the phone briefly light
up and then the line key buttons are a steady amber. As the phone initializes, the LCD
screen turns dark for a few seconds and then "boot movie" displays.
3. When the phone completes the boot process, you'll see the handshake screen..
Entering the Handshake Information on the Phone
1. On the phone, enter the handshake information generated when you provisioned the
customer on the Service Node:
• Service Provider ID
• Customer Login
• Password
