Troubleshooting System Cooling Problems

WARNING:
cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this
procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system.
Ensure that none of the following conditions exist:
System cover, cooling shroud, drive blank, power supply blank (in single
power supply configurations), or front or back filler panel is removed.
FAN5 blank or heat sink blank is removed in single-processor
configurations.
The expansion card installation guidelines have not been followed. See
"Expansion Card Installation Guidelines."
Ambient temperature is too high. See your Getting Started Guide for the
system's operating temperature requirements.
External airflow is obstructed.
Cables inside the system obstruct airflow.
An individual cooling fan is removed or has failed. See "Troubleshooting a
Fan."
Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system
